With temperatures starting to drop, slowly but surely, and rain showers becoming far more frequent, it seems like we’ve reached the end of what has been a truly glorious summer. But just because it’s time to put away the paddling pool and switch shorts for raincoats doesn’t mean there’s no longer fun to be had!
So, if you’re not quite ready to say goodbye to summertime and all of the amazing family parties that come hand in hand with balmy days and breezy nights just yet, then worry not because Hog Roast Hornsea has got your back.
Our team isn’t shy when it comes to a bout of bad weather and we’ve been known to tackle heavy rain, hail and even snow in a bid to give our customers and clients a great time!
Most recently, we were called in to assist Carine with a family party she had organised in celebration of her husband, Andy’s 40th birthday. The occasion called for a massive garden party, which was attended by the couple’s family, friends and neighbours last weekend.
Hog Roast Hornsea, was, as always, eager to help out with this event and to ensure the client got the most out of the occasion, our catering manager helped her to find the perfect menu and offered to include extras in the booking such as one of our marquees to keep the guests from getting wet if it rained. Carine couldn’t have been more impressed by our team’s attention to detail and agreed to pay extra for a marquee and some dining furniture to keep her guests comfortable.
On the day of the party, Hog Roast Hornsea worked hard to set up our equipment in the couple’s sprawling back garden, after which they threw themselves into cooking our famously delicious Classic Hog Roast Menu. It took several hours of roasting the meat over low flames before the pork was ready to be carved up and served on gluten-free rolls with stuffing, applesauce and crackling to the ravenous guests.
While the weather did indeed take a turn for the worst, no one minded. The guests were kept dry thanks to the marquee, and our hog roast rolls did the trick when it came to keeping everyone warm from within. For Andy, especially, this was a day to remember and he was extremely grateful for Hog Roast Hornsea’s involvement!
