Alan and Louisa got married when they were both 18 and have never parted since. With their 50th anniversary approaching, their son, Matt, wanted to do something special to recognise the occasion. With the help of Hog Roast Heslington catering, he chose to host a formal dinner for the couple and 75 of their friends and family. The dinner took place in a beautifully decorated marquee, with an open bar and live music. The atmosphere for the night was excellent and it was a brilliant event to be a part of.
As the guests arrived at the venue, our waiting staff began by serving a selection of canapés, including fresh salmon, roasted duck breast, mini pizzas, an Indian selection, and mini fish and chips. This was a great introduction to our delicious catering and set a formal tone for the rest of the evening.
Once the guests were seated, we moved onto the main course. We had prepared a slow-roasted hog, served with sage and onion stuffing and homemade applesauce, as well as beef sirloins accompanied by Yorkshire puddings and red wine gravy. To create a tasty and balanced meal we also prepared a selection of seasonal vegetable dishes and roasted baby new potatoes.
To end the catering, our Hog Roast Heslington waiting staff served sticky toffee pudding and fresh fruit salad. Each dish was presented beautifully, on plates dressed with fresh berries and English cream. This created a dessert that both looked and tasted excellent!
