Let it never be said that Hog Roast Portinscale is not dedicated to our craft. As a caterer we pride ourselves on going above and beyond for our customers. Sometimes that just means sourcing the foods they want, or curating the exact menu and tastes they are after. Sometimes it means altering plans on the day to deliver outdoor dining when the sun comes out, or switching out certain dishes for particular customers as and when they request so. But every now and then our call to go above and beyond goes beyond even our expectations, and as a time we find ourselves traversing by land and sea (or, y’know, a lake…) just to get you your favourite hog roasts!
If you have a look at our social channels right now you will see exactly what we are talking about. This past week Hog Roast Portinscale actually did go above and beyond just to get our roasts to the right place at the right time. We were invited out to a brilliant wedding at Derwentwater House in the Lake District. It’s an excellent venue with stunning lakeside views, but the interesting challenge for us as a caterer is that getting there with our equipment actually required going over the lake. They say pigs can’t swim, and yet loaded up in our mobile hog roaster and shipped onto a boat our pigs were in fact skimming right across the lake in a hurry to get to our dear bride and grooms awaiting their first meal together. It was a peculiar and interesting way for our team to get over to the venue, but you can’t ever say we don’t get creative and don’t try our all to get you your favourite hog roasts.
With the aid of another winch from a quad bike of all things at the other end, our Hog Roast Portinscale team were thankfully able to arrive to site in tact and ready to cook for the hundreds of guests coming for the wedding. The excitement of the journey more than matched the excitement of the event itself as both our team and our guests had a great time with our dining service!
