After a christening, it is common for family and friends to gather together to enjoy the celebration. After a beautiful christening ceremony for their daughter, the Edwards family hosted a formal reception at their local village hall. The reception was beautifully decorated, featuring live music and lots of party games for the younger guests to enjoy. For the catering, they chose our Hog Roast Flamborough Alfresco menu, since it is ideal for 100 guests and is a great choice for a hot summers day.
On the day of the reception, we prepared our selection of dishes for the 2 PM mealtime. When the guests arrived at the reception they were shown to their seats by our friendly waiting staff, who then began to serve the sharing platters. The starter for this menu is an incredible dish, featuring gourmet cheese, sliced meats, vegetables, slices of bread, olive oil, and vinegar. It is served on a bamboo platter and shared between the guests.
For the main course, we served our classic Hog Roast Flamborough slow-roasted pig, served with fresh bread rolls, homemade applesauce, crispy crackling, and sage and onion stuffing. The dish was served with gourmet coleslaw and seasonal leaves, as well as roasted new potatoes.
To end the catering, the guests enjoyed summer pudding and profiteroles, served with fresh fruit and English cream.
